With over 10 years of history in Hong Kong and a branch of China's largest vocational training school, “China East Education”, established over 39 years ago, we, at Hong Kong New Oriental Culinary Art (HKNOC) actively promotes comprehensive and diverse education to foster students' holistic development and their appreciation of food.

We are committed to offering various culinary experiences which enhances students' interests in learning through practical teaching, in doing so will understand where their food comes from and the effort involved in its production. The process also aims to cultivates students’ flexibility, creativity, communication, teamwork skills, and problem-solving abilities.

We are one of the earliest local institutions specializing in children's culinary education and group cooking activities. We have organized over 2,000 group culinary events and are widely recognized by major corporations, organizations, schools and universities.

Classes and events are led by experienced baking and culinary professional instructors with years of expertise.

Our Program Objectives

Responding to the needs of educational diversification and practical learning, we have launched a "Food Education" program that combines both culinary and baking experiences that enables students to:

  • Develop a Global Perspective:Emphasize international and interdisciplinary learning.
  • Achieve Holistic Development:Focus not only on academic abilities but also on students' physical and mental well-being, personal growth, and values.
  • Cultivate Critical Thinking:Encourage independent thought, self-reflection, and enhanced problem-solving skills.
  • Experience Diverse Cultures:Understanding the food cultures of different regions through cooking techniques and ingredients, thereby learning about local history and customs.
  • This program is more than just a platform for teaching cooking skills; it is a catalyst for student development. The program's activities encompass knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes, empowering students to understand the world through food and grow through hands-on experience.

Program Highlights

1. Customized Courses:Tailor-made cooking content designed according to the school’s activity theme (e.g., Hong Kong culture, traditional festivals etc.) or specific learning objectives.

*  Sessions can be held either on campus or at our center.

Cake decorating, edible painting
Cooking:
Chinese & Western cuisine (Handmade Pasta, Beef Wellington etc.)
Science:
Food temperature, transformations, and chemical reactions
Culture:
Experiencing traditional customs (Festive cakes, Rice dumpling, Mooncake etc.)
Baking:
Cakes, Bread

2. Alternative ingredient options:Vegetarian, Gluten-free, Halal etc. options can be provided to cater to the diverse dietary backgrounds and cultures of all students, ensuring participation for all.

3. Master practical life skills:Through "kitchen education", students learn time management, process planning, problem-solving, and responsibility, which cultivates students' independence and self-management skills.

4. Fostering Creativity and Teamwork Spirit:By working in groups to complete dishes, students can enhance their communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.

Activity Details:

Duration:1 day, 3–5 days (half-day / full-day sessions),Length may be adjusted according to the school’s activity plan.

Participants:15–40 students per class

Fee:An early bird discount applies to bookings made at least 3 months in advance. School and group discounts are also offered

Location:At our Fortress Hill center or On-site instruction can be arranged at your school.
