Renowned as a “Food Paradise” of Asia, Hong Kong is the home to many rich culinary traditions, with one being the famous Cantonese Dim Sum. Start your culinary journey by joining one of our immersive, hands-on cooking classes at the Hong Kong New Oriental Culinary Art Cooking School.
Our Dim Sum discovery classes will start with a tour of a local wet market where you will have a chance to experience our local culture, this itself is a cultural experience. You will shop for the freshest and finest ingredients before returning to the school to turn them into your own authentic dim sum / Chinese dumplings from scratch.
During this 2-hour session, you can choose to make different types of dim sum or dumplings. Our professional instructors will guide you through each step, sharing tips and techniques to achieve authentic dim sum and dumplings that could be easily reproduced at home for family and friends.
Ingredients, recipes and tools, instructor demonstrations are included and a certificate of completion will be issued at the end of the class.

Option 1:Cantonese Dim Sum Discovery Class with a Local Wet Market Walking Tour

We offer classes all year round, Monday through to Friday. Please select your desired time slot and we will reach out to you to confirm your desired class date.
Dim Sum Menu (Choose one) (Meat / Vegetarian):
1. Siu Mai (Pork & Shrimp Stuffing)
2. Har Gow (Shrimp Dumpling)
3. Chinese Fancy Steamed Dumpling (Pork/ Chicken)
4. Xiao Long Bao (Soup Pork Dumpling) (* 3 hours class – an additional $300/ per head)
09:30 AM: Meet our Chef at Fortress Hill Station Exit A Entrance
09:30-10:00 AM: Causeway Bay Local Wet Market Walking Tour to shop for dim sum or dumpling’s ingredients
10:10-12:00 PM: Walk to HKNOC Fortress Hill cooking school to start the class
12:00-12:30 PM: Savoring the masterpieces that you have made in the class
- Please advise if any specific dietary requirements at time of booking.
- A minimum of 2 people per booking is required.
- Please arrive at the cooking studio at least 5 minutes prior to the departure time.
- Once the booking has been confirmed, the paid deposit is non-refundable.
Refunds will not be made if there is an absent participant on the event date.
- Cancellations and rescheduling are only permitted if the school is notified at least 4 days before the event. Adjustments can be made directly through our course consultant.
Option 2:Classic Cantonese Dim Sum / Pastry Workshop

– Detailed recipes and instructions to create each dish

Option 3:Thai Style Cuisine Cooking Class




Fee:HKD$1600
If the number of participants exceeds 10 people, the class will be conducted in small groups and some parts will be conducted in the form of demonstrations.
After completing the class, everyone will have a finished product for lunch/dinner
Please note that the class will be held in Cantonese and an English interpreter can be arranged if needed.
Thai Style Cuisine Cooking Class:
Main Course: Thai Green Curry Chicken with French Bread
Soup: Tom Yum Prawn Soup
Demo Dessert: Coconut Mango Glutinous rice
Option 4:Cantonese Style Cuisine Cooking Class




Fee:HKD$1600
If the number of participants exceeds 10 people, the class will be conducted in small groups and some parts will be conducted in the form of demonstrations.
After completing the workshop, each person will make a chicken, a fried rice, and a dessert for lunch/dinner.
Please note that the class will be held in Cantonese and an English interpreter can be arranged if needed.
